How Zest works

1. Establish care for unlimited access

Your experience begins with a comprehensive 30-minute virtual visit. During this appointment, your clinician reviews your medical history, understands your goals, and assesses how well your condition is controlled.

2. A Care Plan That Evolves with you

Next, your clinician walks you through what your skin needs right now and what to expect moving forward. If you’re in remission, we’ll talk about how Zest has helped members safely reduce their medication dose by more than 60% over a year while staying controlled—and what a right-sized plan could look like for you. If your condition isn’t well controlled, we’ll outline the steps to get you there; most Zest members report meaningful improvements in their quality of life within just 30 days.

3. Continuous Support Between Visits

You’re never on your own with Zest. Whether you need help adjusting your medication, managing symptoms, or understanding what’s normal, we’re here. Message your care team anytime and upload photos during flares for quick, personalized guidance. Zest stays connected with you throughout your journey—not just at scheduled visits—so you always have expert support at your fingertips.

FAQs

What is Zest Health?

Zest Health is a virtual dermatology clinic specializing in the treatment of the chronic skin conditions psoriasis and eczema. With Zest, you gain access to clinically proven care through next-day virtual appointments, 24/7 secure messaging with dermatology experts, and personalized, cost-effective treatment plans designed to manage your condition and provide lasting relief.

What skin conditions does Zest Health treat?

Zest Health specializes exclusively in the care of psoriasis and eczema—two of the most common and complex chronic inflammatory skin conditions. Our dermatology providers bring deep clinical expertise in managing these conditions, with treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique presentation, medical history, and lifestyle. We focus not just on symptom relief, but also on identifying and addressing the underlying causes and triggers that drive flare-ups. Whether you're newly diagnosed or have been living with psoriasis or eczema for years, Zest can serve as your primary dermatology provider or work alongside your existing care team to provide targeted, expert support.

What makes Zest Health different?

Zest Health is here for people living with psoriasis and eczema. We get you in fast–often within a day– with treatment just for you. Your care team stays with you between visits so you always know what to do next and who to reach out to.

Is virtual care effective for dermatology?

Yes — and it works especially well for skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema. So much of your skin is about what your skin looks like. Clear photos and videos can give your care team what they need to treat you. Virtual care also means you can get seen faster, follow-ups are easier, and your care team can keep a close eye on how your skin is doing over time.

Who is eligible for Zest Health?
How quickly can I get an appointment?

Eligible members can usually schedule a virtual dermatology visit within just a few days, with many patients being seen as soon as the next day. Our virtual-first model eliminates traditional wait times so you can start managing your condition sooner.

Do I need a referral to use Zest Health?

No referral is needed to get started with Zest.

How do I book an appointment with Zest?
Are all visits virtual?

Yes. All Zest Health appointments are conducted online through Zoom. You will meet with an experienced clinician through video meeting, from anywhere you have a secure internet connection.

Can I message my provider between visits?

Yes. Through our messaging application, you have 24/7 access to your Zest care team. You can ask questions, report changes in symptoms, or request medication adjustments.

What if I need in-person care?

If your condition requires in-person testing, procedures, or physical exams that cannot be completed virtually, Zest will help coordinate care with a trusted local provider. Our team can also work with your existing dermatologist or primary care physician to ensure continuity of care if needed.

How much does Zest Health cost?

Virtual dermatology visits through Zest Health are available at no cost. This includes virtual visits with dermatology providers, treatment planning, and secure messaging. Standard copays or coinsurance may still apply for prescriptions depending on your pharmacy benefits.

How much does a first visit cost?
Will I have to pay for prescriptions?

Prescription costs vary based on your pharmacy benefits. Your clinician will work with you to ensure coverage for your treatment is affordable.

What if Zest isn’t covered by my plan?

If Zest Health is not included in your current plan or employment benefits, we may offer a cash-pay option or help you explore alternative solutions. Contact membersupport@zesthealth.com for more details.

What kinds of medications and treatments does Zest offer?

Zest Health provides a full range of treatment for psoriasis and eczema. Depending on what your skin needs, your care team may recommend creams, moisturizers, pills, or other medications — including shots for more serious cases. Your doctor will put together a plan just for you, with the goal of reducing flares, calming irritation, and helping your skin feel and look better over time.

Can I get a prescription through Zest?

Yes. Just like at any other clinic, Zest clinicians can prescribe and refill medications. During your visit, they’ll assess your condition, review your medical history, and collaborate with you on what treatment plan is right for you. Prescriptions are sent directly to your preferred local pharmacy, or to your designated speciality pharmacy when necessary.

How do I request a prescription refill?

You can request a prescription refill at any time through your Zest Health portal. Your care team will review your request and typically send the refill to your pharmacy within 24–48 hours. If needed, your clinician may recommend a follow-up visit before issuing a refill.

What should I do if I have a flare-up?

If you’re experiencing a flare-up, you can message your care team through the application. Your care team will review your symptoms and recommend next steps, which may include adjustments to medications, treatment plan, self-care guidance, or a same-week appointment.

When can I expect to see results from treatment?

The time it takes to see results depends on the severity of your condition and the treatment approach. Many patients experience symptom improvement after one or two visits. Your clinician will track your progress and adjust your plan over time to ensure long-term relief.

Who will be part of my care team?

Your care team includes board-certified dermatologists, licensed nurse practitioners, physician assistants and care coordinators who specialize in treating psoriasis and eczema. Each member is trained to support patients living with chronic skin conditions through personalized, evidence-based care.

Can I use Zest if I already have a dermatologist?

Absolutely. Zest can serve as your primary dermatology clinician or work in partnership with your existing care. We can offer second opinions, treatment reviews, and support between in-person visits to ensure your skin is always being managed proactively.
